Sabari

Sabari is a South Indian artist who uses art as visual storytelling, best known for his highly contrasted black and white illustrations that explore the human mind and our connection to the world. He challenges taboos around mental health and vulnerability, encouraging dialogue rather than avoidance.

Having spent much of his life following conventional paths against his will, Sabari aims to encourage open honesty to forge deeper connections while instilling individuality. Though inspired by contemporary art movements, he also draws from Old Master paintings for their vivid colors and subject centralization. His use of shining white lights against dark backgrounds draws attention to subjects often depicted in distress, melancholy, or emotional expression.

While Sabari's works subjectively portray repressed thoughts and feelings, he leaves them open to interpretation, allowing both himself and viewers to think independently while connecting with others.
